Caramel Flavored Apples

The "special" apples I used in the Apple Downside Up Cake were AppleSweets in County Fair Caramel Flavor! I found these apple slices at WalMart. These are so delicious, and I love that they are naturally flavored. They have a creamy caramel flavor and are ready to eat right out of the package. I took the leftover apples to work and snacked on them all day. The website shows that there are Apple Pie Flavored Apples too. I have not found these yet, but they sound delicious!!

Caramel and apples are a great pair. Have you ever eaten those caramel-coated apple lollipops? I used to love those things!

So, they are real apples, in a package? How do they keep them from browning? And what is the "natural" flavouring? Just wondering...It seems like a strange product to me...

So, they are sliced apples with flavoring?? that is TOO COOL! Because I love caramel dipped apples, or those lollipops that are green apple flavored with caramel overtop. Hahaha! Definitely need to find this now!

Thanks for sharing!

Hmm so are they coated in caramel or do they magically have a caramel taste?

Now that's interesting. Are the apples coated or injected with something?

Crazy! The slices are caramel flavored?
Sounds kinda like those "Grapples"- apples that are grape flavored. Those are pretty good if you haven't tried them. Definately something different!

i'm confused on how they are naturally flavored. haha that's so bizarre, but i'm sure they're amazing.

They look awesome. Especially since they don't have any sugar added to them? I bet they made the cake taste really yummy.

Hi all! I work for Stemilt, the company who makes AppleSweets and couldn't help but notice all the great comments about our Caramel flavored slices. I also wanted to answer some of the questions people had about the process of slicing & flavoring apples. To keep the apple slices from browning, we use a calcium/mineral solution called NatureSeal. The solution also adds vitamin C to the fruit and keeps slices white for up to three weeks (much like the at-home remedy of adding lemon juice to sliced apples). Stemilt uses a patent-pending process to add natural flavors (like Caramel, Apple Pie and Wild Berry) to the slices. The all-natural ingredients enhance the sugars already in apples. We think AppleSweets is a great alternative to sugary snacks and are proud to offer a tasty and healthy snack. To learn more, visit http://www.stemilt.com/fruit/applesweets/Pages/AboutAppleSweets.aspx
