Ginger Chews

I tried a great product this weekend, and I wanted to share it with you all. These chews are made by The Ginger People. I have seen these in stores, and finally decided to try them. I could not resist the cute little ginger character on the package. :) The verdict: AWESOME! These ginger chews are sweet and spicy, and almost have a gingerbread taste to them. They are the perfect sweet treat after a meal. Not only are they yummy, they also offer digestive aid and are full of antioxidants, magnesium, potassium, B-vitamins and zinc. I guess you can call them healthy candies. They also come in spicy apple, peanut, and coffee flavors. I can't find the coffee flavor in my stores, but I bet the coffee ginger chews are amazing! Has anyone else tried these?

About the Maple Sugar: My mom ordered it online from a local farmer's market but I know you can get it at Whole Foods.

I'll have to be on the lookout for these the next time I do a cross-border shopping excursion (which might be this week!).

I've never seen them before, but I will keep an eye out. When I was a kid I used to eat my moms candied ginger. When she wasn't looking anyway. :)

Ginger is also a fantastic aid when you're nauseated, or motion sick. On cruises they sell these to people who are seasick! I have a bunch just for that reason, I love ginger candy!

ooh~ candied ginger is also good mixed in with cream cheese and apricot jam and slathered over a thick bagel!
do you just eat yours as snack?

I love these - of course they wouldn't be available in Canada but I'm leaving for Florida in a week and plan to source them. Thanks for the great tip.

Interesting. I hear ginger is good for motion sickness which I get a lot. I love ginger - pickled ginger at the Japanese restaurant, ginger beer. Yum!

have you ever tried Reeds Ginger Beer or Reeds ginger chews? They are my favorite soda and candy- so spicy and sweet and all-natural/guilt free (nearly!) I asked for them for Christmas this year (and got them, too)!
